It is important to Lilbourne Parish Council that our residents are updated with our latest decisions as a parish council. Here you will find both agendas and minutes for all of our meetings that are open to the public.
It is essential to Lilbourne Parish Council to provide and support the local community. We have many community groups that are open to residents. We also have a thriving business community which welcomes customers from far and wide.
Parish Councils must be transparent with their financial documents and obligations. These can be easily found on our site, making it easier for you to contribute to local decision making and increase our democratic accountability.
Lilbourne is a village in the very north of Northamptonshire very close to the Warwickshire border.It is close to the M1 motorway which runs east of the village, and the A5 road, west of the village which marks the boundary with Warwickshire. Slightly to the north is the River Avon which marks the boundary with Leicestershire.
Just outside Lilbourne is the River Avon and the remains of a Norman motte and bailey castle. Lilbourne also has a Grade I listed Church.
No.73 Squadron was stationed at Lilbourne during World War 1. Lilbourne once had a railway station on the former Rugby to Market Harborough line which closed in 1966. The station was situated away from the main part of the village, across the River Avon, just within the parish of Catthorpe, Leicestershire.
Lilbourne has a population of approximately 305 (census 2021). Rugby is the closest shopping centre and has the majority of the services required for day to day living, including rail links to London and the north. The administrative centre is undertaken taken by West Northamptonshire Council
